1st Line support Technician

This role will be based on the support desk taking clients service calls and logging them, as well as trying to resolve any issues to a 1st line level.

This position would suit a young person with an interest in this area of IT who wishes to pursue a career within this and join our dedicated team.

We provide our clients with a professional on and off-site service and support for their business IT network infrastructure, covering a wide range of IT related services under one roof and managed.

 

Pay reviews are based around progress made and performance related. During the first year at DDS we hold 4 reviews, which have pay rewards attached to them, typically £200 - £500 for each review. This means during the 1st year at DDS there is the opportunity to increase annual salary by £800 - £2,000.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • logging and resolving 1st level IT related issues
  • Installing and configuring computer hardware
  • password and account settings for email systems
  • Email hosting and solutions including 365. MS Exchange
  • computer upgrades

Skills Required

  • Experience with Microsoft software
  • An understanding of the basics in a workstation PC
  • Experience in fault finding and logical approach
  • Able to prioritise and manage time and faults
  • Understanding of internet services and Wi-Fi
  • Familiar with emailing systems and services
  • Good communications on the phone for support and customer facing
  • Punctual and willing to work in a team

Tidy in their work

Confident on the phone

Quick to learn and retain information

Local resident, easy to get to work

Working Days

Monday to Friday 9-5:30 : 4 weeks holiday + bank holidays

Qualifications Required

C/4 or above in Math and English (desirable but not essential)
