Description

The Design Apprentice will have a key role to play in assisting the both the design team and greater project team
with the smooth running of projects enabling the continual growth of J&C Joel Ltd.
The role holder will be working within the wider design team, using Auto Cad and Solidworks to produce
detailed drawings from concept. The role holder will work with other departments in the business to ensure
that the drawings are brought to life through the appropriate channels within the manufacturing and projects
teams, ensuring that client’s needs are met.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Communicate with internal and external clients in a clear, professional manner at all times and obtain
key information to allow for detailed information to be produced.
• Be enthusiastic about design and how things are made and assembled.
• Assist design team with drawing requests from all departments.
• Produce drawings in Autocad and 3D models in Solidworks for Design team to sign off.
• Adapt to clients’ drawing/document management protocols.
• Support other employees to use drawing software.
• Support other employees in understanding the design concept, to bring the necessary drawings to life
through manufacture.
• Assist project team with supporting documentation for projects.
• Speak to suppliers, where required and get several quotes for procurement
• Carry out any other necessary ad-hoc duties, as requested by Design Manager and Project Senior
Management

Skills Required

  • Creative flair and ability with the design field
    • Experience in using auto cad and other design software
    • Strong organisational and teamworking skills
    • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

Working Days

Monday to Thursday 08:30 – 17:00, Friday 09:00 – 15:00

Qualifications Required

Good standard of GCSE’s
